Melognite — Legal Notice & Consumer Information

A. Provider identification (§ 5 DDG)

VAT: Not charged by the operator — small business pursuant to § 19 UStG (Kleinunternehmerregelung); no VAT ID is issued. Consumer purchases are invoiced by the Merchant of Record (Paddle), which applies applicable VAT.

B. Nature of the service

Melognite is a deterministic, music-theory-based tool for musical sketches with MIDI export. It is not a generative AI model and makes no promise as to originality or exploitability (see ToS 2 & 5).

C. Reseller / Merchant of Record

Paid subscriptions are sold and invoiced by our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), your contractual counterparty for the payment, which handles taxes and issues invoices.

D. Essential consumer information (distance contracts; Art. 246a EGBGB)

Main characteristics: access to the Melognite App to generate deterministic musical sketches and export MIDI in the selected tier (Basic / Standard / Pro). Requirements: current browser with JavaScript & Web-Audio; internet connection.
Total price / term: applicable annual price incl. taxes shown at checkout by the MoR; subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
Payment: via the MoR using the methods it offers.
Term & cancellation: minimum term one year (or as shown); cancellable to the end of the current term via your account menu (Plan → Manage subscription) or the Paddle customer portal linked from your receipt; a cancellation button per § 312k BGB is provided for online continuing paid contracts.
Right of withdrawal & its early expiry for digital content: see Section E.
Legal warranty: statutory rights for defects apply.
Functionality/compatibility/interoperability: deterministic generation; Standard MIDI File export compatible with common DAWs; playback samples are preview-only and not exported; no copy protection beyond account/tier gating.

E. Right of withdrawal (consumers) + model form

Right of withdrawal. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving reasons. The period is 14 days from conclusion of the contract. To exercise it, inform [the MoR, as your contracting party for the purchase, at Paddle (help.paddle.com, or the contact shown on your receipt), and/or us at hello@melognite.app] by a clear statement (e.g. letter or email). You may use the model form below. Sending the notice before the deadline suffices. Consequences: we/the MoR reimburse all payments received without undue delay and within 14 days. Early expiry for digital content: if you expressly requested performance to begin during the withdrawal period and acknowledged losing the right of withdrawal once performance begins, the right expires accordingly (§ 356(5) BGB). F. EU online dispute resolution

EU ODR platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged and not willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).

G. Third-party components and instrument credits

The Service uses third-party software and audio samples. The complete list of software components, instrument samples, drum kits, fonts and their licences — including the mandatory CC-BY and GPL attributions — is maintained on our dedicated Licenses page. Playback samples are in-browser preview only; the customer export is MIDI-only and contains no samples. You may not extract or reuse these samples outside the Service (ToS 5.4).
