This register documents the licences of the third-party audio, font and vendor components our apps ship or load, to the best of our verification (sources and credits below; corrections: hello@melognite.app). Commercial use — with the paperwork already done. No sound source in Melognite requires attribution: everything you hear and record is Public Domain, CC0, released by its author for any use without restriction, or our own work, and every Studio Recording ships with a licence passport that says so per file. MIDI exports contain note data only. Pro downloads may additionally contain transition-FX sound files that are our own production and, with Studio Recording (Pro, since 2026-09-07), a WAV recording of your live mix — that recording does contain the instrument and drum samples you played, and it therefore ships with an automatic licence passport naming every sound source used and any credit line it requires (section 8).
What this page does not say: it says nothing about whether a piece of music Melognite generates is free of anyone else’s rights. It cannot; see Terms, section 4/5. This register covers the material we ship, not the music you generate.
The register below covers the vendor code, instrument samples, drum kits, fonts and graphics used across the six apps, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Pop, Metalcore, Techno and House/DnB, with their licence and, where required, the mandatory attribution. Nothing here is under a non-commercial (NC) licence. Every credit that is legally required is collected in the final section.

Further vendor components: supabase-js (Supabase, Inc.): MIT, self-hosted copy served from our servers. The MP3 preview inside a Studio Recording ZIP is encoded in your browser with lamejs (a JavaScript port of the LAME MP3 encoder, LGPL-3.0; lame.sourceforge.net, github.com/zhuker/lamejs), served as a separate, unmodified file /shared/lame.min.js with its licence text at /shared/lame.LICENSE.txt; the WAV master is produced without it. Checkout pages are hosted by our Merchant of Record, FastSpring (onfastspring.com); no payment script is embedded in our pages — the checkout opens on FastSpring’s own domain; Tone.js licence text is shipped alongside the library.
Provenance note: several instrument sets reached us as distribution copies via the open-source
repository nbrosowsky/tonejs-instruments (MIT loader). The licence stated per row below is the licence
of the original source of each sample set, as documented in that repository’s own
sample-source-info.txt and verified against each source individually (internal provenance file, 24 Aug 2026).

All typefaces are self-hosted on our own servers; no font CDN is contacted. Geist Mono, Space Grotesk, Caveat, Patrick Hand (and further faces used on individual pages, e.g. Cinzel, Inter, JetBrains Mono): SIL Open Font License 1.1. Clash Display (Indian Type Foundry via Fontshare): ITF Free Font License. Neither licence requires an in-product credit; both permit self-hosting.
All app skin artwork (skins/*.webp: photographic backgrounds and UI graphics) was produced for Melognite by the operator using professionally licensed image tools; Melognite holds all rights required to use it, and no third-party attribution obligations apply.
Melognite’s composition logic ships as scale degrees, weights, ranges and rhythmic strike patterns. Open the style packs and look for a melody: there is none. It contains no third-party audio, no recordings and no complete melodies, only rhythm patterns, contour shapes, scale degrees, ranges and frequency weights only, measured from music analysis and fixed by hand (see Terms §2: “rules, calibrated data and a seed”); nothing that could carry a third-party licence into your MIDI export. The shared base vocabulary of rhythm patterns and contour shapes was measured from the CC0-encoded public-domain song collections (CC0 encodings of 19th-century public-domain art songs); credit given with thanks.
The transition effects on the FX track of Metalcore, Reggae and Pop (risers, impacts, sub drops, sweeps, reverses, drones, stingers, echo throws, sirens, reverse cymbals, vocal chops and the other families) are produced by Casa Santa Solutions UG (haftungsbeschränkt). They are synthesised from first principles by our own offline generator; no sample library was purchased, sampled or adapted, and no third-party recording is contained in them. This is deliberate: nearly every commercial sample licence permits use within a production and forbids passing the sound on in isolated form. Producing our own leaves us free of that constraint, and free to grant you the rights below without conditions attached by someone else. The vocal chops of the Pop library contain no voice recording: they are produced by formant synthesis, a synthetic glottal pulse train shaped by three formant filters. No singer, no sample, no third-party recording.

Casa Santa Solutions UG (haftungsbeschränkt) grants an unlimited, worldwide, perpetual and irrevocable right of commercial use to the transition FX contained in an exported song, including publication, distribution and monetisation of the resulting music, exclusively to the user who held an active Pro plan at the moment that song was generated.
Status 2026-09-23: after the piano re-sourcing, the kit/bass consolidation and the CC0 re-sourcing of the drum kits (15 September 2026), the selectable sound path of Pop, Reggae, Metalcore and Techno consists exclusively of material that is Public Domain, CC0, released by its author for any use without restriction, or our own work. No CC BY kit is reachable in any engine any more. The CC BY-SA Black Pearl kit was removed entirely on 14 September 2026 — from every engine, every interface and the server; it is no longer reachable at all. With it went the only copyleft obligation in the Service.
| Export | Plan | Contains | Third-party material |

Studio Recording (.wav of your live mix, with MP3 preview) | Pro | audio: the instrument and drum sounds you played, rendered live in your browser | none requiring attribution — Public Domain, CC0, released by its author for any use without restriction, or our own work; licence passport per file |
Corrected on 12 August 2026. Until then this page stated „Melognite exports no audio“. That was true when it was written and became untrue when the Pro export gained the transition-FX files. The sentence is replaced by the table above.
Studio Recording (Pro), since 2026-09-07: Pro users can record the live mix as a WAV file. This became possible because the selectable sound path now consists exclusively of material that is Public Domain, CC0, released by its author for any use without restriction, or our own work. Every recording downloads together with an automatic licence passport that lists each sound source used (including instruments switched mid-take) and confirms, per file, that no attribution is required. A finished recording counts as one song export. The recording is accompanied by a provenance certificate (Terms 4.3b) that can be checked at /verify/.
What a standard (non-recording) download never contains: no mixdown of the song, no recording of any track, no instrument or drum sample. The reason is not caution but licensing: a recording of the output would contain the sampled instruments of sections 2 and 3, and those licences are granted to us for operating the service, not to you for redistribution. The boundary therefore does not run between „MIDI and audio“, but between third-party material and our own.
Archived engine generations (/engine/), since 2026-10-02 (service start): every engine generation that is live on or after 2 October 2026 stays available under /engine/<genre>/g<n>/ so that a provenance certificate can be re-computed against the exact generation named in it. Generations from the test phase before that date are no longer served. The licence document shipped with each archived generation is authoritative for it; the statements above describe the current apps only.
And what none of this says: that the music itself is free of third-party rights. Melognite composes from rules and a seed; a generated sequence can coincide with an existing work. We give no warranty of originality; see Terms, sections 4 and 5. If you hold rights and believe a specific seed reproduces your work, report that seed: we block it immediately, before any assessment.
Since the CC0 re-sourcing of September 2026 no sound source in the selectable sound path of Pop, Reggae, Metalcore or Techno requires attribution. Everything you hear and record is Public Domain, CC0, released by its author for any use without restriction, or Melognite’s own work. The remaining credits below concern vendor code (MIT/GPL) and are named as a courtesy or as their licence asks.
No credit line is required for any sound in the current sound path. If you wish to credit sources voluntarily, this is accurate:
Piano: Salamander Grand Piano V3 by Alexander Holm (Public Domain, creator declaration of 4 March 2022).
Acoustic guitar: FreePats “Spanish Classical Guitar” (CC0 1.0, freepats.zenvoid.org).
